SPOTLIGHT READER – Kristen Green

A huge thank you to Kristen for allowing us to share her journey. Below is her journey in her words.
My bariatric journey has been about far more than weight loss it has been a deliberate commitment to sustainability, balance, and long-term health. From the beginning, my goal was not quick results, but a lifestyle I could maintain with intention and grace. I approached this journey with honesty about what my body needed and what my life required, focusing on habits that could evolve with me rather than restrictive rules that would eventually fail. Each decision I made was rooted in building something lasting physically, emotionally, and spiritually so that my progress would be measured not just by numbers, but by quality of life.
The greatest contributor to my success has been connection and self-permission. Finding and engaging with community reminded me that I was never meant to do this alone; shared experiences, encouragement, and accountability created a foundation of strength and belonging. Equally transformative was my decision to unapologetically prioritize my mental health. By honoring my emotional well-being, setting boundaries, and releasing shame, I created space for healing that directly supported my physical success. This journey has taught me that sustainability is born where support, self-awareness, and compassion meet and that choosing myself fully is the most powerful transformation of all.

I am by no means a perfect Bari. What I have learned is there is no such thing. I’m not after perfection, what I am after is self-improvement. I’ve achieved that in so added n and s many ways. I’ve found authenticity. I’ve found vulnerability. And I’ve found safety!!! These are the things that I hold dear as a result of my Bariatric Journey!!!
