On a Clear Day

Being a bariatric patient means that every day you must do specific things.  You must think about what you are going to eat at each meal and snack time.  However, the wonderful part of being a bariatric patient is that you have now told the world that you are doing everything you can to be in control of your health journey.  There are a number of things that we must do to keep and have “a clear day”.

First, continue to make every thing count that you put in your mouth.   Drink plenty of water and that amount varies from body to body and adequate sleep truly matters as well.  It would be wonderful if you can work on surrounding yourself with people that support your efforts and limit those who put you down.  If that someone is your spouse, sibling,  co-worker, or parent(s), remind them that it is important that you do all you can to stay healthy and this is one of the ways to do so.  I have seen people lose their loved ones because of the weight loss surgery, however, remember that you are stronger than you realize and you will make it through these difficult times.

On a clear day, you can see the sun, the blue skies, the smiles on faces, how nice you look, how your face glows a bit more everyday.
