Negative People – Get Outta Here!!!!

There will always be people who criticize, complain, judge, discourage, or focus on everything that could go wrong. Sometimes their negativity is obvious. Other times, it comes disguised as advice, sarcasm, doubt, or constant criticism. If you spend enough time around it, their attitude can begin to affect your own.
But you have a choice: you don’t have to carry someone else’s negativity with you.
Negative people often see life through the lens of their own experiences, disappointments, fears, and frustrations. What they say about you may have far more to do with where they are emotionally than with who you actually are. That doesn’t mean you should ignore every criticism. Constructive feedback can help us grow. But there is a big difference between someone offering honest, helpful feedback and someone repeatedly trying to make you feel small.
One of the most important things you can learn is that you cannot control how other people think, speak, or behave. You can control how much power you give their words. Experts on difficult relationships emphasize that healthy boundaries help protect your time, energy, and emotional well-being.
Sometimes protecting your peace means changing the conversation. Sometimes it means spending less time around someone. And sometimes it means simply deciding not to respond.
You don’t have to defend yourself against every opinion.
You don’t have to convince everyone to understand you.
You don’t have to prove your worth to someone who has already decided not to see it.
Your energy is valuable. Be intentional about where you spend it.
That doesn’t mean becoming cold or uncaring. You can have compassion for people without allowing their behavior to control your emotions. You can listen without absorbing their problems. You can understand someone’s pain without making it your responsibility to fix them. In fact, therapists often recommend acknowledging someone’s feelings while remembering that you are not responsible for carrying those feelings yourself.
When someone is constantly negative, try asking yourself: “Is this person helping me grow, or are they pulling me away from the person I want to be?”
That question can be revealing.
Surround yourself with people who encourage you like The BariGirls who believe in you, celebrate your progress, and tell you the truth with kindness. Pay attention to how you feel after spending time with someone. Do you feel inspired, supported, and understood—or exhausted, discouraged, and insecure?
Your environment matters.
Most importantly, don’t let someone else’s bad attitude become your own. Their bitterness doesn’t have to become your bitterness. Their doubt doesn’t have to become your doubt. Their inability to see your potential doesn’t mean you don’t have any.
Keep moving forward. Reach out via consult with The BariGirls.
Keep working toward your goals.
Keep believing in yourself.
And when someone tries to bring you down, remember that you don’t have to meet them where they are. You can choose peace. You can choose distance. You can choose confidence. You can choose to keep going.
Not everyone will understand your journey, and that’s okay.
You are not here to be liked by everyone. You are here to live a life that is meaningful to you.
Protect your peace. Guard your energy. Set your boundaries. Stay kind—but don’t allow someone else’s negativity to convince you that you should become smaller.
Keep your head up. Their opinion is not your identity. Their negativity is not your destiny. And their words do not get to decide how far you go.
